Cimarron River Farms is owned by Jim and Jeanne Dobson. The farm is located in Coyle, Oklahoma and is bordered by Soldier Creek which empties into the Cimarron River. The land is rich bottomland that has been in the Dobson family since statehood.

In 2013, Jim retired from corporate life and returned to the family homestead to establish a cattle farm to produce premium grass-fed and grass-finished Angus beef. The wheat ground was tilled and planted with Midland 99 bermuda grass. Midland 99 is a hybrid Bermuda developed by Oklahoma State University and released in 1999. It has a higher forage quality than other varieties of Bermuda grass. We take pride in ensuring our cattle are raised in the healthiest and most comfortable environment possible.

The farm is sectioned off into two dry lots and five pastures or paddocks. The two dry lots have freshwater and loafing sheds that provide our cattle with protection from extreme environments. We utilize the rotational grazing concept where the cattle are placed in one of the pastures for approximately seven days while the other four pastures are allowed to rest and re-grow before being grazed again. This technique allows our cattle to eat the most tender and palatable grass. We believe the great taste of our beef comes from their diet of high-quality Midland 99 Bermuda.
